Students kicked off the year attending our first "Reading Assembly" with guest book characters.  Can you find the following book characters in the slide show:  Fancy Nancy, Stripes, No David, Olivia, Butterfly from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Pete the Cat and Captain Flint from Treasure Island?  Look closely, and you'll even see Amelia Bedelia.

The first reading challenge has been established!  The challenge is for students at Liberty Oaks to read 2,000,000 pages by Winter Break!  Can we do it?  Yes we can!!!!! 

Did you happen to notice the book characters were all carrying pies?  The sweet reward of reading 2,000,000 million pages by Winter Break,  will be students throwing pies at the teacher of their choice.  So like the song says:  "Gotta Keep Reading"!
